In Madrid the organization who was intended the best for Madrid and its Water use has been the "Canal de Isabel II", this organization is who provides most of the water to Madrid and controls the river of Canal de Isabel II and the dams and resevoirs near Madrid. The Community of Madrid, through the "Canal de Isabel II", launched in 2005 a plan which aims to improve the purification and reuse of water in 50 municipals of the region, under the name of "Plan Madrid Debug and Reuse", an investment of over 600 million of Euros. Currently, 90% of the municipalities that joined this Plan benefit from the works of purification and reuse of the water that has launched the "Canal de Isabel II". With this plan, there are expected to get 70 cubic hectometers of water annually, equivalent to the consumption of 770,000 people in Madrid.
